Our Story
Hi I'm Winny the founder of Chipped, and I'm so glad you're here!
I started Chipped after being in tech and crypto for 7 years and felt my self losing parts of my femininity to the world of bros. The journey started almost a decade ago while studying my undergraduate degree in Fashion and Textile design, I landed my dream internship in NYC and i was going for broke. I was introduced to crypto and blockchain and a whole world of technology I had never really seen before. I wrote my thesis on the relationship between fashion, technology and blockchain and went on to study my masters in Business and Technology.
After running my own agency in 2021 + 2022, I took a step back to understand how we can really connect everyday people to technology in a way that was exciting and wasn't so, and for lack of a better word -- threatening. With every AI wearable coming out the Valley right now, it's A LOT even for me, I can't imagine how it is for those who haven't been immersed in this industry for years.
However, there is a lot of beauty to be found in connecting technology and fashion and I am on a mission to do it in a way that empowers our community, especially women, who are often left out of these conversations despite being the main driver of consumer habits.
I wanted to create a product that empowers women and femininity in male dominated spaces.
I started doing NFC acrylics for fun, just for myself every time I was about to go to a conference.
And all of my gfs were like wait, I want this, but there was no way in hell I was going to subject them to my terrible extensions so I was looking for a press-on option. Now -- I've never claimed to be the first to put NFC in a nail, but when I was looking for none DIY options, there were none, and the process was so janky I wanted to find a way to make it work because I just thought it was so fun. So the company pretty much started by accident, but it was the beginning of the best journey of my life.
Its been wild.
Building a brand has been the most insane journey I've ever been on, I've had more heartbreaks than any relationship, my faith in humanity destroyed and rebuilt more times than I can count, but I love where we're currently at.
We built a full supply chain from scratch, an app, hosted events all around the world and built and incredible community who believe and enjoy what we do and it's an honour to build this everyday with and for them.
Building a product like this hasn't been easy. There are SO many moving parts.
From custom programmed chips, to manufacturing the nails, building an entire app and platform to make it work I am sooo proud of everything we've done in a relatively short time. I really cannot understate it but everything is moving and operating as it should and it's only going to get better from here.

HOW TO USE CHIPPED?
Step 1: Apply the nails
Prep your natural nails by cleaning and filing them, then apply a small dot of glue or adhesive tabs. Press the nails down for 10-15 seconds, and voilà—gorgeous nails in under 10 minutes, ready to slay! 💅🏻
Step 2: Connect to the app
To use the nail, simply download the Chipped Social app and set up your profile. On the app, you can add your bio and all the links to your social pages: website, email, Instagram, twitter, … you name it! Now everyone will know who you are ✨
To connect your nail, simply go into the settings and add a device — Voilà!
Step 3: Scan to share your socials
Time to swap contacts with someone you met and want to stay in touch with? Just tap your nail to their phone! Your profile will appear on their phone: they will have access to your social links
