What is the Chipped Social app?     


Connect with people you wanna know with the tap of a finger. Chipped Social will transform the way you network, date, and make friends. Easily make connections with people you meet irl—and never lose their deets.

Pair it with our NFC-chipped press-on nails and the app gets even better. Stay off your phone and in the moment—effortlessly tap your nail to any smartphone and slay. 

 

Who is the app for?   

If you own a set of Chipped press-on tech nails, you’ll need this app to connect with new friends with a tap of your finger (and stay connected).  
If you don’t own a set of Chipped nails (yet), you can use this app to add people with Chipped nails to your Connections. Just tap their nails and build your networking database.  

 

Is the app free to use?   


The app is free to download and use, but some features are only available if you own a set of Chipped nails.  

 

How do I download the app? 


At the moment, the Chipped Social app is only available on Testflight — email us to be the first one to try it out!


What platforms is the app available on?

The app will be available on Google Play (Android) and the App Store (iOS). 


How can I create an account? 


Once the app is published, it'll be easy!
To start, download the app (on Google Play for Android or the App Store for iOS) and open the app. There, you’ll be able to sign in or sign up with your email and a one-time password, or log-in through a third-party account like Google or Apple. And you’re in.  


Features and Functionality


How to set up my nails when I receive them?

        
When you first get your nails, tap the NFC-chipped thumbnail to the NFC reader on your phone. (Where’s my NFC reader?) A pop up will direct you to our app, where you can create your own account and customize the links on your profile.  

 
I just received my nails! How do I add them to my account?  


To connect your nails to your pre-existing account, simply go to your profile in the app and select SETTINGS > ADD DEVICE > BEGIN DEVICE LOCATION. When prompted, tap your new nail to the NFC scanner on your phone (locate your NFC reader here). You’ll then be able to rename this set of nails. Hit ‘SAVE’ and you’re all set!  
In SETTINGS, you can also disconnect your nails at any time (in case you lose them).



What happens if I lose my nail? Do people have access to my account?


Don’t panic! Your information and account are safe—you’re logged in through the app, not the individual nail. If tapped to an NFC reader, the nail only displays your social profile.
To disconnect a lost nail, simply go to your account in the app and disconnect any nail in the ‘Devices’ section of your profile with the click of a button. 


What happens when I connect with someone?


When you connect with someone, they will be added to your Connections in the app to help you stay connected in the future. You can even add a note in the app to help you remember who they are, how you met, and any other helpful details.



How do I set my social media links? 


Once you have set up your profile, go to EDIT BIO > SETTINGS > ADD YOUR LINKS. Before saving, remember to enable the toggle to have the link appear on your profile.  



What if I don’t have the nails? Can I use the app?


You do not need the nails to download and create an account on the app. Once you create an account, you’ll be able to add people who tap your phone with their Chipped nails to your Connections, create notes, and stay in touch.

If you do not have Chipped nails, you will not be able to connect with people who do not have Chipped nails. Get your own set to unlock the full benefits of the app and effortlessly network, flirt, and connect with anyone!

      
What are the key features of the app?


The Chipped Social app makes it easy to connect with the people you really want to know. It gathers all your best profile links in one place for easy sharing, and acts as a database of the people you’ve connected with (including a notes section to help you remember the who, what, and where). Oh, and you’ll blow people away with your effortlessly cool networking.

 
How do I create a Connection?


When you scan a friend’s nail, the ADD CONNECTION button will appear. Click it and they’ll be added to your virtual Connections database.


Can I use the app offline?


You must log in to your account to use the app, which cannot be done offline. 


How do I update the app? 

 
Our users will be notified of new TestFlight builds when they are available to download. By going to the TestFlight application, new builds can be installed.


Can I customize my app experience?


Absolutely. You can easily customize your profile photo, banner, bio, and social media links by clicking EDIT PROFILE.


 
Technical Support


The app is crashing/not working. What should I do?


If the app is crashing or performing unexpectedly, try closing the application entirely, and then relaunching it. If that fails, try logging out of the account and reauthenticating by logging back in. If you are still experiencing difficulties, please reach out to our team at hi@chippedsocial.com.


I forgot my password. How do I reset it?


On the Chipped app, user authentication is granted solely through one-time passwords and third-party social log-ins, such as Google or Apple. We do not store any user passwords.


How do I report a bug or issue?


The best way to report a bug or issue is via the TestFlight app. By opening the Chipped app on TestFlight, users can contact us directly via the “Send Beta Feedback” button.


Is my data safe and secure?


We believe our users should own their data. As such, we do not collect or use any user data in marketing or advertisements. The only data our app stores is the email address associated with the account, the email address used when creating the account, pictures uploaded by the user for customizing their profile, and social links that users may choose to add to their profile. This data is stored securely on our servers and is accessible only to authorized team members.


What should I do if the app isn't updating?


If there are any issues with updating the app through TestFlight, please reach out to us via either the “Send Beta Feedback” button within the app, or at hi@chippedsocial.com.


 
Privacy and Data


How is my data used?

 
User data is solely used for account authentication or app functionality purposes. We collect email addresses, which are stored securely on our servers, along with the ID of Chipped nails associated with a user account. Additionally, if users upload pictures for their profile or connections, those are stored on our servers.  


 
Can I delete my account?


Accounts can be deleted via the App Settings menu (where users log out). When an account is deleted, all stored data will be lost, including connections and profile pictures. 

How do I manage my privacy settings? 

There are currently no privacy preferences within the app.

 

Does the app share my information with third parties?  


Chipped uses a third-party OAuth provider called Privy. The only data that is shared with them is the email used to create the account. All additional information, such as photos and nail identification, are kept entirely on Chipped servers and never shared.
